Efteling (Kaatsheuvel)

The Efteling in Kaatsheuvel is definitely the most famous attraction park of the Netherlands! It opened in 1952 and is among the oldest theme parks in the world. It is the largest themepark of the Netherlands and focus on (Dutch) fairytales. The park has many attraction for daredevils, like rollercoasters, river rapid rides or a bobsleigh ride, but also attraction for little children like a fairytale forest or a 3D cinema.

You can overnight in the park. I have stayed once a night in a holiday home. The houses are big, clean, cozy and very suitable for families. It is a great park! If staying overnight in the park is too expensive for you, I can recommend staying in one of the hotels nearby the Efteling (less than 5 km distance):

Perfect for families: GuestHouse Hotel Kaatsheuvel-Waalwijk or EftelHuysje

Budget travelers: Boutique Hotel en B&B De Zwammenberg or Hotel Restaurant de Joremeinshoeve

Mid-range accommodations: Bed en Breakfast de Olm or GuestHouse Hotel Kaatsheuvel-Waalwijk

Luxury place: Het Wagenhuis

Julianatoren (Apeldoorn)

The Julianatoren in Apeldoorn dates from 1910 and is the oldest theme park in the Netherlands. The park was named after the late Dutch queen Juliana. The park is built around the Queen Juliana Tower, which an official monument. The park has more than 60 rides. Most of them are for children till 12 years.

Amusement Park Duinrell (Wassenaar)

“A splashing day out or a fun family holiday”! Amusement Park Duinrell in Wassenaar is a combination of an outside attraction park and an inside pool with many fantastic waterslides. Tikibad (the indoor pool) has the longest water slides in the Netherlands and is the largest indoor pool of the Benelux (Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg). They also have bungalows or a family camping site where you can stay the night.

The entry price of this park depends on how long you would like to stay in the pool and if you would like to combine your pool visit with a visit to the outside attraction park.

Walibi World (formerly Six Flags) (Biddinghuizen)

Walibi World in Biddinghuizen is the best attraction park in the Netherlands (if you are a real daredevil). The highest and fastest roller coaster of Holland and Belgium can be found in Walibi World. The park has many more exciting attractions like a free fall, river rapid ride or a skydiver. You can also overnight in this park.
