A perfect Cycladic stay at Crown Suites, Santorini

As Santorini is one of the most popular islands of the Cyclades (and of Greece), there are many accommodation options. One of the lively and nice places to stay at is Kamari. This town offers a beautiful beach, nice restaurants / cafés and a lively atmosphere. During my time at Santorini I’ve stayed at Crown Suites: a very modern, typical Cycladic looking accommodation located near the center of Kamari. In this article I’ll tell you more about my experience during my stay at the Crown Suites.

Crown Suites

The location of Crown Suites is perfect, as it’s located at a quite peaceful place, but also near the lively center of Kamari. In a few minutes walking distance, you arrive at the boulevard and at the beach of Kamari. If you arrive by plane, you can reach the hotel by car in approximately 15 minutes and if you arrive by ferry boat, you can reach the hotel by car in approximately 20 minutes. It’s nice to know, when you don’t have a rental car, there are buses driving around the island to take you from one to another place. It’s recommended to make a reservation for your arrival transfer though when you’re planning on travelling to Santorini in Summer time.

Crown Suites offers six types of rooms: the Standard Double Room, the Standard Double Room with Garden View, the Superior Double Room, the Junior Suite, the Senior Suite and the Superior Suite (in total 35 rooms). Although we booked the standard double room, we got a free upgrade and were positively surprised by our stay in the superior suite. That was an awesome upgrade! Especially since the superior suite features, among other facilities, a private jacuzzi. We really enjoyed it. The room was decorated very modern, same as the bathroom. It’s a very spacious and clean which offers everything you need.

By arriving at the hotel, we got a welcome drink, which was really nice. The service overall was very good: from check-in to check-out, the hotel staff tried to make our stay pleasant at all times.

Crown Suites also features a pool, which you can use during your stay. There is a pool bar where you can have a drink and there are sun beds around the pool. During our stay at Crown Suites, we didn’t use the pool as we simply didn’t got time for that (and of course we had our private jacuzzi), but it looked like a really nice pool. It’s not that big, but enough space for the guests. Furthermore, the hotel provides pool towels which you can use for your swim.

Besides a pool, the hotel also has a spa lounge with Hammam, massage services, hairdressing and manicure & pedicure. There is a very small library and internet corner. You can also wash your clothes as there’s a laundry and ironing service. If you still need to arrange a transfer to the port or the airport, the hotel offers this too.

Crown Suites doesn’t have a restaurant where you can have dinner during the evening, but breakfast is included and you can have breakfast in the hotel as there is a room where you can sit and where you can find the breakfast buffet. The breakfast buffet offers a wide range of food where there is something for everyone. I really enjoyed breakfast.

Looking at the price, it’s not the cheapest accommodation. However, in my opinion the price-quality ratio is very good. Of course it really depends on the room type and rate type you’re choosing which price it’ll be for you. The price you’ll pay for a standard double room with a non-refundable rate (for two persons including breakfast) will be around the € 140,- per night. For the stay you’ll get, this is a very reasonable price and absolutely worth it.

After my experience with staying at the Crown Suites, I can definitely recommend this accommodation to everyone. It has a perfect location, a nice ambiance and a great service together with beautiful rooms. If you don’t mind paying a little more and you appreciate a comfortable accommodation, Crown Suites may be something for you.
