Koh Lipe, a Thai Island, is a true paradise! Although there are quite some accommodations for such a small island, it’s still not completely discovered. Beautiful, white sanded beaches, palm trees and magnificent coral reef.. Koh Lipe has it all! We travelled from Langkawi (Malaysia) to Koh Lipe by boat and stayed here for two nights at the Zodiac Beach Resort, located straight at the beach. In this article I’ll tell you some more about our stay.
Would you like to read more about Koh Lipe? In this article you can find an island guide!
The accommodation is located straight at the Pattaya Beach and close to Walking Street (only 10 minutes by foot over the beach), the town center of Koh Lipe. Here you can find all kinds of restaurants and shops. It’s a perfect starting point for exploring this small island and for enjoying a nice beach day.
The Zodiac Beach Resort doesn’t feature many facilities, as it’s a small accommodation. There’s a central area where you can find the reception, the restaurant and where you can get beach towels and snorkel equipment. Furthermore, there’s a small playground and on the beach you can use the beds and beach umbrella’s for free.
There’s one small eatery in the area, where you can also find the reception. Here you can have breakfast in the morning and have some lunch in the afternoon. The breakfast is simple, but good. There’s everything for everybody and they also make some scrumbled eggs if you’d like to. The lunch menu is quite simple as well, but the dishes are good.
The service of Zodiac Beach Resort is perfect. The staff of the accommodation does everything to give you a pleasant stay. When you arrive on the island, there is an employee waiting for you who brings you and your luggage to the accommodation. Arrived at Zodiac Beach Resort, they bring your luggage to the room and you receive a welcome drink, which was very nice and welcoming.
Also, we would like to book an extra night (because we only had booked one night and we didn’t want to go yet) and our host arranged this very well. I’m very happy about the service!
The Zodiac Beach Resort provides 20 guestrooms which are divided into three types. There are two large Beachfront Sea View Bungalows, which have a full view on the sea. Furthermore, there are six twin-bed Superior Garden View bungalows and twelve double-bed Superior Garden View bungalows.
During our time on Koh Lipe, we stayed at the Beachfront Bungalow, which I really enjoyed. Not only did we have a nice view over the beach and sea, but I really liked the bungalow concept, what creates a great beach feeling. The room features a terrace with seat and a comfortable bed. The rest of the room is quite simple, but you’ve everything you need. There is air conditioning, a television, refrigerator, closet, shower, tea & coffee facilities and some other attributes.
A nice detail: all bungalows have a water point in front of the bungalow which you can use when you’ve been to the beach. In this way, you can clean your feet before you go inside, what avoids sand in the room.
The price-quality ratio for the Zodiac Beach Resort is very good in my opinion. It isn’t that expensive, since it only costs around € 45,- per night for a room, two adults, including breakfast. If you would like to stay in a bungalow at the beach, you pay around € 80,- per night. Especially for everything you get in return (transfer from and to the ferry, snorkel equipment which you can rent and a nice breakfast) it’s worth the price. You can book this accommodation here.
This overview is a summary of the points written above. I’ll give a point from one star until five stars where one star is very bad and five stars is very good.
Room size: ****
Room attributes: ***
I’m very positive about this accommodation. It provides little houses, which I really like. The service is great, with the highlight that staff will take you to the accommodation at arrival. The breakfast was quite simple and there aren’t many facilities; however, the accommodation creates a relaxing atmosphere and the price-quality ratio is perfect.
