I went to the Blue Lagoon with ‘Adventure Cruise’. It was a really nice trip and worth the money. We spent around 45 minutes on the speedboat to the Blue Lagoon, stayed there for four hours, went afterwards to the Santa Maria caves, and finally we spend another 45 minutes on our way back to Sliema. On the boat, I enjoyed the views, music, and fresh breeze.

What is the best time to visit the Blue Lagoon, Malta?

In July and August, it is high season, which means that the beach will be packed by tourists! Try to avoid those months. If you would like to have a sunbed, go as early as possible. June, September, and October are the best months to visit the Blue Lagoon. Within these months, the temperatures are still nice, it will be sunny and definitely less busy.

Where to go to at the Blue Lagoon, Malta?

Take a walk! Don’t stay at the point where all the boats drop the tourists. Walk a bit up, among the cliffs, and enjoy the amazing views!

You can walk for about 25 minutes to another beach on Comino Island; Santa Maria Bay. This beach is less crowded and has a bit of the clear azure-colored shallow waters. I did this, and definitely do not regret it. I stayed for about 4 hours on this beach, then walked back to the Blue Lagoon, swam over there, and took the boat back to Sliema.

Another beach is located at the San Niklaw Bay. I didn’t visit this beach, but heard it is also worth a visit!

You can also go to the southern part of Comino Island. Here you can find another beautiful Blue Lagoon; Crystal Lagoon, which is definitely worth a picture as well! You can see the locations of the different places on the map below:
