Hi, I’m Daphne. Ever since I was a little girl I have been deeply passionate about travelling. I’ve spent most of my life fighting an incurable case of wanderlust. I always dreamed about becoming a stewardess and studied the past four years ‘International tourism management’ in the Netherlands. Currently I am studying a Master of Science in Tourism, Leisure and Environment at the Wageningen University in the Netherlands.
When I was 16 years old, I started to collect a wide range of travel articles for great insights into my favourite travel destinations worldwide. Until now, I collected more than 300 articles in my wooden pirate treasure chest. According to these articles I wrote a bucket list with 150 travel related goals. I hope my dream will come true and I can visit all these wonderful places within the next years. Who can say what the future holds and where it will take us?
I’ve been travelling and living in different places around the globe for the last five years. When I was 16 years old I ventured off on my first trip overseas (outside Europe). I headed to Africa to do voluntary work and that trip changed my life. I was fully immersed in the culture, language, customs and beautiful nature of South Africa. From that moment on, I was addicted to travel.
The past five years, I have lived for five months in Spain and six months in Indonesia. Moving to the Canary Islands (Tenerife) was like moving to paradise, until I moved to Bali. Spain is sunny throughout and has beautiful beaches, but the unique living habits, culture, social life and exotic food of Bali, made Bali my favourite place on earth, so far at least (also my first culture-shock). Next to the amazing living experiences in Spain and Indonesia, I have travelled to many other countries in Europe. In the summer of 2016 I decided to go backpacking (solo for the first time) through Scandinavia for three months. I enjoyed every minute of it and can’t wait until I will finish my master study, so I can travel the world again! =)

My life motto is to keep on dreaming and dare to dream. As Saint Augustine says “the world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page.”
