The accommodation options in Dubrovnik are very diverse. Most travelers chose to stay in Old Town, as you can find here most of the highlights of the city. However, Old Town can also be quite expensive and crowded. That’s one of the reasons why we choose to stay a little outside Old Town. During our search to a nice accommodation, we ran into Apartment Marina View. We immediately liked it and decided to book it for two nights.

In this post you can find more information about Apartment Marina View, but also about my experiences during my stay.

About Dubrovnik

Dubrovnik is a beautiful port city located in the southern part of Croatia. It’s near the border of Bosnia & Herzegovina and Montenegro, which makes a road trip through these three countries perfect. The Old Town of Dubrovnik is part of the UNESCO World Heritage List and has some beautiful sights. However, not only Old Town is a must visit when traveling to Dubrovnik; the city has much more to offer!

Location in Dubrovnik

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Apartment Marina View is, like told before, located a little outside the Old Town of Dubrovnik. It’s actually more located around the area of the port of the city. From the terrace of the apartment, you can get some amazing views over the port.

In a short taxi ride, you can easily get to the Old Town of Dubrovnik, but no worries.. in the direct environment of the apartment you can find several restaurants and bars where you can have dinner or just a drink. At a walking distance of, approximately, 15 minutes, you’ll also get to Uvala Lapad Beach. Here you can have a swim, but it’s also a very lively area where you can have a nice afternoon or evening.

If you have a (rental) car, you can park for free in the direct environment of the apartment. For us, it was quite difficult at the beginning to find the apartment, but after a little while we found it. Take into account that there are no signs which leads you to the apartment. Follow your Google Maps towards the address.

The apartment

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Apartment Marina View is very spacious and features everything you need for your stay. There is a living area including a kitchen (with, among other things, a microwave and a kettle) and the bedroom is separated from the living area. There’s also a separated bathroom. The apartment is suitable for two persons. Also the terrace has lots of space (there’s a dining table at the terrace as well) and you can enjoy some amazing views over the port of Dubrovnik from the terrace.

One quick note: you can only reach the apartment by stairs, so the apartment is not suitable for travelers who cannot walk on stairs very well.

Service

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

Overall, the service during our stay was very good. The apartment was very clean and by arrival, we got a tour through the apartment. The hosts also gave us some fruit as a welcome, which was really nice. The only negative thing was as follows: when we couldn’t find the apartment at first, we tried to call our host. They didn’t answer the call, so we didn’t have help with finding the apartment. At the end, we were looking for around 20 minutes, but it could have go a little faster.

Price of Marina View Dubrovnik

Rating: 4 out of 5.

During our stay (at the beginning of September, we paid around € 90,- per night for the apartment, including tourist tax (excluding breakfast). In my opinion, this is a very reasonable price for everything you get in return, looking at the facilities and location. The price differs per travel period. For the actual prices you can have a look at Booking.com.

In summary, I can recommend this apartment for a stay in Dubrovnik. If you’re not looking for an apartment in the middle of Old Town, but still would like to have a nice location, this is definitely the place to stay. It’s the perfect starting point for exploring more of the city.
