4 Festivals You Can’t Miss In and Near Duluth, Georgia
Just 30 miles northeast from Atlanta, Duluth, Georgia, is one of ATL’s most vibrant suburbs, offering shopping, recreation, entertainment, and more. But Duluth’s contributions don’t stop there. It’s also a stellar place to take in a festival or stay when there’s a festival in Atlanta. Great Atlanta Beer Fest
If you love the harmonious marriage of grain, hops, yeast, and water, the Great Atlanta Beer Fest is the event you’ve been waiting for. Taking place each October, this festival showcases the beers of over 150 brewers from Atlanta and the Southeast as you saunter around the confines of the all-new SunTrust Park just north of Atlanta. Each ticket includes a souvenir cup, entertainment, and all-you-can-drink beer.
Plenty of festivalgoers will take full advantage of the latter, so if you want to save some money on accommodations, get home safe, and stay close to all the action, book a hotel in Duluth.
Music Midtown
Taking place at Piedmont Park over two days in September, Music Midtown is one of the most-attended music festivals in Atlanta, attracting nearly 130,000 attendees. Originally started in 1994 and lasting until 2005, the festival was revived in 2012 with some of the top artists in the music industry across several genres. Past performers include Bruno Mars, Weezer, Wiz Khalifa, Twenty One Pilots, The Lumineers, Iggy Azalea, Lorde, and Panic! At the Disco, just to name a few.

Atlanta Jazz Festival
If you’re a music guru but love a more laid-back approach to festival vibe and top-notch musicians, the Atlanta Jazz Festival is worth a visit. Each year over Memorial Day weekend, Midtown Atlanta’s Piedmont Park plays host to the event, which is one of the largest free jazz festivals in the country. Started in 1977, it’s the longest continuously running music event in Atlanta, and has featured legendary artists such as Miles Davis, Nina Simone, and Dizzy Gillespie.
Before or after the show, enjoy the breathtaking scenery of the park, purchase work from local artists, or enjoy some food and drink from some of Atlanta’s top restaurants and vendors.
Duluth Fall Festival
With its roots going back over 50 years, the Duluth Fall Festival is another veteran on the Atlanta-area festival circuit. On the last weekend in September, over 85,000 attendees descend on downtown Duluth for two days of food, entertainment, and fun. The festivities kick off on Saturday morning with a parade featuring over 3,000 people followed by an opening ceremony. For the next two days, the festival has over 20 bands on two stages, 375 food, drink, and art vendors, a 5K race, and plenty of activities for all ages and interests.
