Going to the gym takes dedication and even more so when you’re on the go. All the gear

The right gear is essential when it comes to getting the most out of your gym experience and when you’re moving around a lot it’s even more important to have the right gym clothes and accessories with you. Make sure you wear comfortable clothes that don’t restrict your movement and shoes that provide good support and grip. If possible, invest in a pair of weightlifting gloves or a lifting belt, as these can help improve your form and reduce the risk of injury.

Finding a great gym

For those who enjoy high-intensity workouts, make sure that you line up gym access, which you can use at your own pace. When you’re on holiday, you will need to consider the location you’re in and how you’re going to get to a gym. You will also need to look at the options available to see where at what type of gym you’ll go for. You’ll have a range of options to choose from, such as hotels, fitness classes or well-known chain gyms. Consider using an app, such as Trainaway to help you track down a great place to enjoy your workouts.

Book an induction

Most gyms will offer some kind of induction package where a professional trainer will show you around the facilities and explain how all the equipment works. This is invaluable for when you are visiting a new gym, as it allows you to understand how everything works, the facilities available when you are visiting and how to use equipment which you may not have some across before.

Plus, it helps build confidence in using the machines and equipment properly, which reduces potential injuries from improper use. If you suffer an injury at the gym, get in touch with an accident solicitor for further advice

Go with your travel companion

Going to the gym with someone is always more enjoyable, especially when you’re in unfamiliar surroundings. Having somebody there who understands what you’re going through can be really beneficial for self-confidence and will help you both stick to your routine whilst you’re away. You can motivate each other and even come up with fun workout routines or challenges.
