Review Best Western Plus Hotel Norge – Kristiansand
During my 10-day train travel trip through the South of Norway, I visited one of the most Southwards located city of the country, named Kristiansand. During my time in Kristiansand, I stayed at the Best Western Plus Hotel Norge. In this article I would like to tell you some more about this accommodation. Would you like to read more about Kristiansand? I’ve written an article about the city as well! You can read it by clicking here.
General description – Best Western
Best Western Hotels & Resorts is already for more than 70 years part of the hospitality industry. The hotel chain has hotels in more than 100 countries and areas worldwide which fits everyone’s wishes and needs. With seven hotel brands, you can chose the one which fits you most. The Plus Hotel Norge is part of the brand “Best Western Plus”, which has the characteristic stylish and modern.
Location
The hotel is located very centrally. From the train station, it’s only a 10-minute walk to the hotel. From the hotel, you will easily reach the city center, because it’s located just around the corner of the hotel. Every place is within walking distance, as well as the waterfront of Kristiansand. Shortly, the location is perfect.
Facilities
Plus Hotel Norge has a restaurant at the ground floor, called Café Dronningen, where you can have breakfast, lunch and dinner. Also for business travellers this is a perfect hotel, since there are 20 meeting rooms from which the largest room can cater up to 150 people. Next to a restaurant and several meeting rooms, the hotel offers a gym, sauna and a relax room. All the most important facilities are present in the hotel. Only a swimming pool as an extra would’ve been perfect.
Hotel Room
The hotel offers 172 hotel rooms, including two suites. All rooms have air-conditioning and extra comfortable beds from Jensen Ambassador. Also, all rooms are nicely decorated with 1300 original artworks from famous Norwegian artists such as Nupen, Per Fronth, Ferdinand Finne, Nicolai Wilderberg and more.
Our hotel room was very spacious. There was a double bed, together with a desk and a sofa in the room. Although I found the room a little dated, it was fine for the time we spend there. In my opinion, the rooms can use a little upgrade for sure. The bathroom also was fine. Not great, but clean and had everything we needed.
Restaurant
Café Dronningen is the place of the hotel where you can have breakfast, lunch and dinner. During my stay, I only enjoyed breakfast. In my opinion, the breakfast buffet is very extended and also the place itself has a nice atmosphere. I really liked having breakfast in the hotel and I can definitely recommend this. I haven’t had lunch or dinner in the hotel, but I’ve heard that there are some really delicious dishes on the menu.
Price
If you’d like to stay in this hotel, you have to think of a price per night of € 130,- for two persons, including breakfast. This is of course depending of the room type you chose for. In my opinion, this is a reasonable price for a four-star hotel with this perfect location. Although the rooms are pretty dated, the hotel offers good service and a nice breakfast buffet. The price-quality ratio is good. You can book this hotel via, for example, Booking.com.
Overview
This overview is a summary of the points written above. I’ll give a point from one star until five stars where one star is very bad and five stars is very good.

Above you can find how I think about the several subjects regarding the hotel. In short, the location and facilities are just great. The rooms are very spacious, but can definitely use a renovation.
