Review Buccaneers Boutique Guest House, Bugibba

During our roundtrip through Malta, we’ve stayed two nights in the Buccaneers Boutique Guest House at the end of our trip. After two apartments, we decided to chose for a hotel, which we didn’t regret afterwards. In this article you read more about the Buccaneers Boutique Guest House and what I think about this accommodation.

General description
The Buccaneers Boutique Guesthouse is a family run accommodation with a really nice atmosphere. It’s located in Bugibba, near St. Paul’s Bay and Qawra. Quoted from the website: “Chef patron and Boutique Guesthouse owner, Kurt Saliba, would be looking forward to serve you and assist in any dietary requierement”.

Location
The location of the hotel is perfect, namely in the middle of the center of Bugibba. At walking distance, you can find many restaurants and shops. Besides, you can easily walk to the port of St Paul’s Bay. On the other side of Bugibba you can easily walk towards Qawra. An ideal location not that far from the sea and restaurants.

Facilities
Although the hotel is named a guesthouse and isn’t that big, it offers some great facilities. There is an area where you can have breakfast every morning in buffet style. You can also find a place (restaurant) where you can have some dinner in the evening. There even is a small terrace. On top of the hotel, you can find a small swimming pool for if you would like to swim. Although there aren’t many facilities, the hotel has everything you need during your stay.

Hotel Room
Although our room wasn’t that spacious, it was equipped with modern furniture, as well as the bathroom (which was bigger than the sleeping area though!). The room was absolutely clean: one of the most important things for me. All rooms in the hotel feature air conditioning, satellite tv, free WiFi, a fridge and kettle. Same as the facilities, you have everything you need! There wasn’t any view though, but that wasn’t a problem for us.

Restaurant
During our stay, we only used the restaurant for breakfast. The breakfast buffet wasn’t that extensive, but had many various things where you can chose from. I found the breakfast delicious and fine for me.

Price
The price of the hotel is very reasonable when you look at what you get in return. The rooms are nice and clean and there is breakfast included. The staff is very friendly and the location is great. For approximately € 80,- per night you have a fine room with breakfast. If you’re planning on a budget trip, of course you shouldn’t think about this hotel; but if you don’t mind spending a little more, but not that much; this accommodation is a great alternative.

Overview
This overview is a summary of the points written above. I’ll give a point from one star until five stars where one star is very bad and five stars is very good.

Location: *****
Room size: ***
Room attributes: ****
Bathroom: ****
Facilities: ****
Price-quality: *****

Like you can see above, I can definitely recommend this hotel when you’re a planning a trip to Malta and specifically to St. Paul’s Bay. Located in the middle of the center and with good rooms, you can have a nice stay. The price is very good for what you get in return, which makes the hotel very attractive.
