Review Secret Paradise Hotel & Spa – Halkidiki, Greece
Last weekend, I spend some days around Thessaloniki and Halkidiki in Greece. During those days, I stayed at the Secret Paradise Hotel & Spa. A small hotel, located in a village just between Thessaloniki and Halkidiki; a central location that is perfect to go everywhere! With our rental car we crossed around the beautiful area (I will write about this later this month). In this article, I will share my experiences and opinion about the hotel.
General description
The Secret Paradise Hotel & Spa is located just between Thessaloniki and the area Halkidiki in Greece, in the town named Nea Kallikratia. Because the hotel is located close to the airport, they offer a free shuttle service from or to the airport. The hotel has recently been renovated, what gives it a modern atmosphere. Only 50 meters from the hotel, you can go to the beach.
Location
Like I said before, the hotel is located at an ideal location when you’re planning on road tripping through this area of Greece. It’s just an hour from Halkidiki and like 40 minutes driving to Thessaloniki. The hotel is located in a town where you can find everything you need. There is a boulevard with beach where you can enjoy a day at the beach during high season. If you’d like to have some dinner, there are also some restaurant at walking distance from the hotel. If you’re planning on staying in this hotel, I can definitely recommend you to rent a car.
Facilities
The hotel is a small and personal hotel. However, there are many facilities you can make use of. Of course the hotel has a restaurant where you can have breakfast and dinner (more about this later in the review). In high season (July, August), the hotel also has a roof garden with bar. In winter time this bar is closed though. The hotel also offers a swimming pool which you can swim in during high season. If you are looking for a place to have a business meeting, you’re also at the right place at the Secret Paradise Hotel & Spa, because they offer a conference hall where you can hold meetings and lectures. Besides the hotel also has an Amfitriti Spa Center which you can go to each day. The Spa is decorated in Ancient Greek rhythm.
Hotel room
Thanks to the reason that the hotel has recently been renovated, the rooms are very modern and new as well. We got a spacious room (and bed) with a balcony which had a seat and a view over the sea. When we arrived in the room, there was a bathrobe and some bath slippers on our bed. There is a sitting area in the room, together with a desk. The bathroom is also very spacious, including a rain shower. I really had a nice stay at this room. Besides, it came to my attention that there are also rooms with bigger balcony’s where you can also find sun loungers. Perfect for when the weather is great and you’d like to relax on your balcony!
Restaurant
Next to the reception of the hotel, you can find the restaurant where you can have breakfast (in buffet style) or have dinner in the evening. For dinner I can’t give you my opinion, because we didn’t eat in the restaurant. The breakfast though was very extensive and delicious. There was many choice in hearty or sweet; we really enjoyed our breakfast and there is enough place for everyone who is staying in the hotel.
Price
When we’re looking for a place to stay, we were both looking for a hotel which was not that expensive, but which was good. In my opinion, the price-quality ratio is very good. Since the hotel has recently been renovated, the rooms are still very new and modern. For one night (bed and breakfast) we payed around € 50,- for two persons, which in my opinion isn’t that expensive for a 4-star hotel.
Overview
The overview is a summary of the points written above. I’ll give a point from one star until five stars where one star is very bad and five stars is very good.

Like you can see at the scores, I’m very enthousiastic about this hotel and can definitely recommend the hotel when you’re planning a trip to Greece and want to travel around with a rental car. It’s located in a very central place from where you can easily ride to Thessaloniki or the “legs” of Halkidiki. If you are planning a city trip to Thessaloniki though, I would recommend you to stay a little more closer to the city. Besides, if you haven’t a rental car, I’d also stay in a place which is more located in the city of Thessaloniki itself.
