Landgoed de Rosep: staying in the middle of nature
Located in the middle of nature, not that far from the Dutch city of Tilburg and located between the nature reserves Loonse & Drunense Duinen and Kampina, you can find Landgoed de Rosep. A while ago, I stayed here for one night. In this article, I’d like to tell you some more about the hotel and share my experiences during my stay.
Would you like to read more about Oisterwijk and the things you can do around the accommodation? I’ve written an article which you can find by clicking here.

General information
‘Landgoed’ means estate and this is also where the hotel is part of. They started from 1986 with not only a hotel, but also a restaurant and wellness. It’s all about ‘sublime’: sublime awakening, sublime enjoying, sublime relaxing, sublime sparring and sublime toasting. This is where the accommodation stands for.
I’d like to share my experiences when it comes to the hotel, as I haven’t made use of the wellness or restaurant due to Covid-19.
Location
In my opinion, the location is perfect! The estate is located in the heart of nature, which makes your stay very relaxing. You’ll look through your window and see green all around you. I loved it. Even though you’ll need to have a car to go to a town or another restaurant, it’s not that far away. Besides, places like Tilburg, de Loonse & Drunense Duinen and Kampina are nearby and easily reachable by car.
If you’d like to go to the hotel by public transport, it gets a little harder. From the train station in Oisterwijk it’s still 3,5 kilometers by taxi towards the Landgoed de Rosep. If you’d like to take the bus, you can leave the bus at the stop of Moergestel. From here, it’s a 25-minutes walk towards the estate.
The rooms
Landgoed de Rosep offer a diversity of room types:
– Standard room: the standard room features everything you’ll need, including a nice view over the garden.
– Comfort room: the comfort room is a little more modern and located centrally in the hotel, so you can reach the Wellness centre, restaurant and reception in a second. Also in the comfort room you’ll have a nice view over the garden.
– Comfort Plus room: the comfort plus room is modern and spacious (including the nice view over the garden).
– Luxe room: the Luxe room is a little bit more luxurious compared to the other types. It’s a spacious room with a central location and views over the pond or the garden.
– Junior Suite: in the junior suite you can find a double bed and a bubble bath with shower. There’s also a Nespresso coffee machine.
– Suite with bubble bath: this room type can be compared with the junior suite, but this suite has a more traditional look and the junior suite has a modern look.
During my time at Landgoed de Rosep, I stayed at a Comfort Plus room. To be honest, I expected a little bit more of the room, as it was more expensive than a standard room (and more modern). It’s true that the room is very spacious and you’ve everything in the room you’ll need (including this nice view), but I found the room a little outdated. There were just some things which needed ‘refreshment’. Aside from that, we had a lovely stay.
Restaurant
We made use of the restaurant by dining at the hotel, but it went a little different than normally due to Covid-19. We enjoyed a delicious dinner (we had a 3-course surprise dinner) in our room. They brought us the course to the room and each time we were ready for the next one, we could simply call the reception. It was nice arranged and the food was delicious. I really enjoyed it. To be honest, it’s not a complete experience as I’m not sure how the ambiance is in the restaurant, but it’s asolutely worth it to have dinner at the hotel!
Facilities
Next to a restaurant and wellness center, Landgoed de Rosep also features a swimming pool, a tennis court and a fitness area. If you’d like to, you can rent (e-)bikes at the hotel and you can get a ‘on the way’ lunch. There are also conference rooms for businesses and you can organize a party or wine tasting at the estate. There’s something for everyone!
The swimming pool and whirlpool are open Monday – Friday from 07:00 AM until 09:00 PM and Saturday – Sunday from 08:00 AM until 09:00 PM. The sauna’s and Turkish bath are open Monday – Thursday from 07:00 AM until 09:00 AM & 05:00 PM until 09:00 PM. On Fridays they’re open from 07:00 AM until 09:00 AM & 04:00 PM until 09:00 PM. On Saturdays and Sundays, the sauna’s and Turkish bath are open from 08:00 AM until 09:00 PM. You can also make a reservation for a massage.
Service
I found the service in the hotel very good. The staff is very happy to help you with everything you need and would like to give you a nice time during your stay. This can be said for both the people at the reception as who served us during dinner and breakfast.
Price
As I stayed at Landgoed de Rosep during Covid-19, I wasn’t able to use any of the facilities or to go to the restaurant. That’s also why I can only share my experience based on my stay and the room. For the comfort plus room, we paid +/- € 145,- for one night (including breakfast, for two persons). As I told before, I found the room quite outdated, so if I compare the stay to other stays in the past, I find this quite a high amount of money for the quality that you get in return. A standard room would be +/- € 115,- per night, including breakfast (based on the prices of 2021).
If you’d like to book a stay at the estate, you can do this through Booking.com.
In short, I had a nice stay at Landgoed de Rosep. If you love to be in nature and would love to enjoy a delicious dinner, this would definitely be the place for you. Despite the outdated room, I would still recommend a stay at the hotel!
