If you’re looking for a place to stay in Bruges, stop looking further, and just book this place! I’ve stayed in a great loft-style holiday home in Bruges, Belgium. The holiday home is located in a former broom factory, dating back to 1913.
In this article, I will introduce you to the loft-style holiday home ‘Den Bustel’ and tell you about my experience. Hopefully this information helps you to better decide on an accommodation in Bruges.
The location of this holiday home in Bruges is ideal. It’s only a 15 minutes walk into Brugge. On your way to the city center, you will find a supermarket, about 10 minutes walk. For us, it was a perfect location from where we could easily explore Bruges. The neighborhood is quiet and feels local. If you are more a party animal and like to overnight close to mature music clubs and raging discos, than this place would be too isolated.
There are some nice shops, cafes, and restaurants in the neighborhood; Cantine Copine (100 meters), Zuid 55 (800 meters), a laundry place (500 meters) and bakery Sint Paulus – butcher – cheese (800 meters). The Railway station Sint Pieters is located 500 meters from the holiday home.

The holiday home
The loft-style holiday home is located in a former broom factory. It has a super stylish decor with a high ceiling. It’s very spacious (around 110 m2) and a small garden is available. Free private parking is possible on the site.
Den Bustel has 2 bedrooms, 1 bedroom is on the ground floor, the 2nd bedroom is on the mezzanine floor. A living room corner is available with a flat-screen television and comfortable couches. The kitchen is fully equipped with a dishwasher and a microwave. The bathroom has a large shower and sauna room! Towels, bathrobes and toiletries are available free of charge.
The accommodation was exquisite, the cleanest place I have ever stayed and everything you could possibly need was available. WiFi is available in all areas and is free of charge.
The front door has a number code which we were informed about on arrival, so no worries that you will lose your key. If possible the hosts try to welcome you personally. They were fantastic and looked after us superbly. Nothing was too much trouble and they went above and beyond to make sure our stay was perfect.
If you would like to discover the area, cycling is possible in the surroundings and the hosts can help arrange a bicycle.
The breakfast was amazing! Almost as great as a hotel breakfast buffet! Every day the hosts provided fresh cold cuts in the fridge and fresh bread and breakfast products in the corridor by the sauna. The spacious fridge also contained some products such as water, milk, soft drinks, and a locally brewed “Brugse Zot”. Plenty of fruits were also available.
