Atahotel Naxos Beach in Giardini-Naxos, Sicily

During my trip to Sicily (Italy) I stayed at the Atahotel Naxos Beach in Giardini-Naxos. This is a hotel with a total capacity of 642 rooms divided into 189 rooms in the hotel (main building) and 453 rooms located in bungalows. So actually this hotel is a hotel and bungalow park at the same time. It is a big park with lot of possibilities, which I will talk about later in this review.

Atahotel Naxos Beach is a four stars hotel and located in the town Giardini-Naxos, in the east side of the Italian island Sicily. When you walk off the park, lots of restaurants and cafes are very close from the hotel. Also the bus stop to, for example Taormina or Catania, is only ten minutes walking from the hotel.

Me and my sister stayed in a room located in a bungalow on the park. One bungalow features eight separate rooms. We stayed at the ground floor in a room at the back side of the bungalow, which was very nice because we had a nice garden with some lemon trees and we had our privacy. The room itself was nice as well, although it was simple. It consisted of two separate beds, a closet, a desk with television, a sink and a separate bathroom with toilet and a shower. There was nothing to complain: the room was very clean and we got clean towels every day.

There are so many activities and possibilities on the park. There are two swimming pools (one competition pool and one normal pool), a private beach (which was very large), a theatre with every night a show, a tourist shop, a baby club, a few restaurants, lots of beautiful little streets with lots of plants and a café where you could buy drinks, food or ice cream. We swam one day in the normal swimming pool. Furthermore, we decided to go one night to a show and a few night we went for some drinks in the café. It was a very cosy and nice park with lots of people. You can find all types of people on the park, but most of the guests are families with children. The hotel and park are really great for children, because there are lot of activities organised for the children. There are also possibilities to sport or do yoga with a trainer, but we did not do this during our vacation.

During our stay, we could use the restaurant in the main building for breakfast and dinner. Breakfast was from 7 a.m. until 9.30 a.m. and dinner was from 7.30 p.m. until 9.15 p.m. The breakfast was served in buffet style and was very great. Wide choice of products and it tasted very well. I really enjoyed breakfast during my stay, also because it was not that busy in the morning. However, in the evening it was busier. The restaurant is most of the time full. The food during dinner was each time very nice: every day there were other dishes and there is a lot of choice. Dinner was also served in buffet style. The only thing what I had to use to, was the fact that you can have dinner from 7.30 p.m. on. In the Netherlands, we are used to eat around 5 or 6 p.m., so by the time it was 7.30 p.m. I was very, very hungry.

All with all, I think this hotel really deserves a recommendation! Besides the fact that the park is beautiful, there are so many possibilities and the nice and clean hotel room, the staff is also really friendly and the food possibilities are very large. Furthermore, the hotel is located close to several restaurants and the bus terminal of Giardini-Naxos. If you are planning a trip to Sicily and specific to the east of the island or close to Taormina, consider Atahotel Naxos Beach!
