Review Hotel G**** – Singapore
Singapore is an immense city with, not surprisingly, a lot of accommodations. We combined our visit to Singapore with our round trip through Malaysia, where we stayed two nights in Singapore. During our search for a nice accommodation, we found it important to have an accommodation with a central location, with good reviews and a reasonable price. We came across Hotel G, a modern lifestyle hotel. In this article I’d like to tell you more about our experience during our stay in Hotel G.
Location
The location of Hotel G is, just like we wanted, very central. From the airport of Singapore it’s only a 15-minute drive towards the center and the hotel. We went by taxi and the taxi driver dropped us at an entrance of the hotel, located in the parking garage of the hotel. If you come by rental car, it should be very easy to park your car in the garage.
Near the hotel there are two metro stations from where you can go easily anywhere. You can go to Orchard Road (thé shopping street) by metro or by foot, which is at a walking distance of approximately 30 minutes. You can also reach Gardens by the Bay very easily by metro.
In the direct environment of the hotel you can find shops, restaurants and anything you need. Arab Street and Little India are very close, at walking distance (approx. 10 minutes).
Hotel Room
Hotel G offers four types of rooms: the Good Room (11-13 sqm), the Great Room (15-16 sqm), the Greater Room (27 sqm) and the Family Room (24 sqm). The Family Room actually are two Good Rooms connected by a door.
We stayed at the Good Room: a room with a really nice design, very clean and features everything you need. There is a bathroom with a nice shower and a comfortable bed. One downside of the room: it’s such a small room! For two nights it’s alright, but I’d loved to have some extra space. We did have a lot of luggage with us (because we were on a round trip of 3,5 weeks) and we couldn’t really store this due to the lack of space. That was unfortunate, but like I said.. we managed those two nights. My advice would be to chose a bigger room if you’d like to have some extra space for your suitcases.
Service
I cannot complain about the service at all. The staff was very friendly and hospitable; at the reception and during breakfast. If we had any questions, the staff was happy to help. When, on the last day, we needed to spend the whole day in Singapore until our flight went back to the Netherlands, we could store our luggage without a problem at the hotel.
Restaurants
Hotel G features two restaurant: Ginett and 25 Degrees:
Ginett
Restaurant Ginett is a bistro-style French restaurant and wine bar which is located on the ground floor of Hotel G. Through this restaurant, you can also reach the hotel rooms. The restaurant is open from 11:30 AM until 10:30 PM to public, but this also is the place for hotel guests to have breakfast. The breakfast buffet is very extensive and delicious: there is something for everyone. I really enjoyed having breakfast, it’s all well arranged.
We didn’t ate or drink anything else in Ginett Restaurant, because it was crowded (full) all the time. I can definitely recommend to make a reservation if you would like to have diner at Ginett.
25 Degrees
25 Degrees is a American-style burger and liquor bar which is located on the ground- and first floor of Hotel G. You can enter the bar from outside the hotel, so it’s very open to public as well. We ate a burger here during our first evening in Singapore, which tasted very well.

Facilities
Other than the reception and its restaurants, Hotel G doesn’t have many facilities. There is a fitness room which is open 24/7. Quoted from the website, the following: ‘located on the third floor, a fully equipped gym designed in vintage tones with exposed brick walls – reminiscent of the classic American boxing gym. Fitted with Techno-gym treadmills, bikes, elliptical, climbers, wellness balls, weights and more, you can energise and rejuvenate right here in Singapore’.
Price
The price-quality ratio is quite good for this hotel. We paid around € 100,- per night for the ‘Good Room’ (including breakfast), but it differs per travel period on how much you need to pay. For a ‘Great Room’, which is a little bigger, you pay around € 140,- per night, including breakfast.
Although our room was very small, I found it very modern & clean and that’s why I think the price fits its quality. You can book this hotel through Booking.com.
Overview
This overview is a summary of the points written above. I’ll give a point from one star until five stars where one star is very bad and five stars is very good.
Location: *****
Room size: **
Room attributes: ****
Bathroom: ***
Facilities: ***
Price-quality: ****
I can definitely recommend a stay at Hotel G, as it offers beautiful and modern hotel rooms with comfortable beds and nice designs. The location is perfect to use as a starting point for exploring more of Singapore and the price is very reasonable. The only negative thing I found is the room size, which really is small. If I’d go a second time to hotel G, I would book myself a bigger room.
