[🇺🇸] The Temples of Angkor! 🗿🍃

Have you ever been there? Or is it a place you would love to discover one day?

Angkor Wat is a temple complex known as the largest religious monument in the world. It has become a symbol of Cambodia and even appears on the national flag 🇰🇭. The Angkor Wat itself is only one of many temples (more than 1000!) in the city of Angkor. When visiting this UNESCO World Heritage Site, you shouldn’t miss out on the following temples:

➳ Angkor Wat (magical at sunrise)
➳ Bayon Temple and Baphuon Temple
➳ Tonle Om Gate (Southern Gate)
➳ Thommanon and Chau Say Tevoda Temple
➳ Ta Prohm
➳ Ta Som
➳ Preah Khan
➳ Phnom Bakheng (nice with sunset)

The above mentioned temples can all be explored within 1 evening and 1 day, so you only have to buy a one-day pass 😁

Ben jij er al ooit geweest? Of is het nog een plek die je graag een keer zou willen ontdekken?

Angkor Wat, vlakbij Siem Reap in Cambodja, is een tempelcomplex dat bekend staat als het grootste religieuze monument ter wereld. Het is een symbool van Cambodja geworden en staat zelfs op de nationale vlag 🇰🇭. De Angkor Wat is zelf slechts een van de vele tempels (meer dan 1000!) in de stad Angkor. Als je deze UNESCO werelderfgoed plek gaat bezoeken, mag je de volgende tempels niet missen:

➳ Angkor Wat (magisch bij zonsopgang)
➳ Bayon Tempel en Baphuon Tempel
➳ Tonle Om poort (zuidelijke poort)
➳ Thommanon en Chau Say Tevoda Tempel
➳ Ta Prohm
➳ Ta Som
➳ Preah Khan
➳ Phnom Bakheng (mooi met zonsondergang)

De bovenstaande tempels kunnen allemaal binnen 1 avond en 1 dag worden bezocht, je hoeft in principe alleen dus een ticket voor 1 dag te kopen. 👌😁

Kep is skipped by most backpackers and often serves only as a day trip location. Such a shame! The peace and nature around kep is still very pure and there are quite a few things to do. These are some nice memories of staying 1 week in Kep, Cambodia 🇰🇭:

[🇺🇸] The Pai Canyon consists of orange-yellow sandstone and is a very popular place to watch the sunset. It’s free to visit and one of my favorite spots in Northern Thailand!

If you are scared of heights, be careful as some paths are really narrow and there’s nothing to protect you from falling down. If you feel brave, you can climb on the narrow pathways which take you further along the canyon!

[🇳🇱] De Pai Canyon bestaat uit oranje-geel zandsteen en is een hele populaire plek om naar de zonsondergang te kijken. Het is gratis te bezoeken en een van mijn favoriete plekken in Noord Thailand!

Als je hoogtevrees hebt, wees dan voorzichtig, want sommige paden zijn echt smal en er is niets om je te beschermen tegen het vallen. Als je sterk in je schoenen staat, kun je via de smalle paadjes verder de canyon in wandelen.

Voeg Pai Canyon toe aan je reisroute als je in Noord-Thailand reist!

Bãi Đầm Trầu, Côn Đảo is a great place as it butts onto the end of the runway of Côn Đảo Airport. As planes comes into land, it makes a very low pass across the heads of beach goers.
