Last week author Tamara published a travel tag. This week I will also answer the travel related questions. I hope you enjoy reading some personal information about me!

Which countries of the world have you already visit?
So far, I visited 15 countries in the world. I went to Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Hungary, Indonesia, Italy, Luxembourg, Morocco, Nepal, South-Africa, Spain, Turkey, United Kingdom and currently I live in the Netherlands.

Which destination is the number one of your bucket list?
This is a really hard question. I cannot distinguish a number one from my bucket list. I love to visit all the things I described as soon as possible.

What is your most ideal holiday?
In the past, this used to be a beach holiday, but nowadays I love the active holidays. I like backpacking through a country for about a month and visit all the tourist highlights and hidden spots and to do some active excursions like canoeing, paragliding or hiking.

Which place did you think was so special that you would love to go back there sometime?
This is definitely Bali. I have lived in Bali for six months. During that time I visited Java and Sumatra as well. I really love the nature, the people, the local food, the fruit juices, the hospitality, the weather and the different cultures. I cannot wait to go back next year to see all my Balinese friends again and to explore the other hidden parts of the island.

Show us your nicest holiday picture!
This picture below is very special to me. It was taken in Nepal during my seven-days trekking through the Himalayas. This picture was taken on a height of 4000 meter where we finally reached the beginnings of the Himalayas. Every time when I look back to this picture I love the scenery, but I am especially proud on the fact I made it so far.

Did you have to travel for work sometime? If yes, where?
I did not had to travel abroad for work. I just travelled a couple of times within the Netherlands to represent the company I work on fairs.

With who are you mostly going on holiday?
In the past this used to be my family, but the last years, I am travelling the world by myself or with local friends from certain destinations who I met during my International Tourism Management study in the Netherlands.

With who would you like to go on a vacation sometime?
With three friends of mine. I have always told them to make a road trip together. Hope soon to buy a nice van, which I can renovate a bit, so it is ready to drive through Europe, America, Asia or Africa. Probably Europe first ;).

Who or what would you take with you to an uninhabited island?
If I can choose for somebody I would choose my dad. He has a lot of knowledge about the nature, animals and surviving skills. This will definitely be handy. If I can choose to take something with me, it will be probably something like a tent, fishing materials, lighter, photo camera or food.

Did you already went on vacation in the Netherlands? If yes, where?
Yes I did, but I have to admit that I usually travel to other countries rather than somewhere in the Netherlands. However, in the Netherlands I have been to some bungalow parks with friends and to attraction parks where you can overnight.

Would you rather go to an amusement park or a zoo?
A zoo! I love animals, nature and can visit a zoo for hours to learn about the behaving of the animals.

Would you rather go on a ski- or a sun vacation?
I love both! On a ski holiday I love the fact that you are active all day and that you can enjoy all the amazing sceneries of the mountain areas. In the night you can spend your time in nice restaurants or après skis bars, which is definitely fun. On the other hand, I also like sun vacations a lot. After living six months in Bali, Indonesia, I just love the fact to relax on the beach, go sightseeing with good weather and to go surfing. I think my preference will be a sun vacation.

What is your nicest holiday memory?
This was my last backpack trip to Nepal. I did seven days trekking through the Himalayas and visited amazing cities like Kathmandu, Pokhara and Chitwan. I did for the first time in my life paragliding in Pokhara and had the chance to drive and wash some elephants in Chitwan National Park.

What is your worst holiday memory?
This was a holiday in Tenerife, where I had lived for six months before. I went back with a friend in order to show my friend where I had lived before. The hotel where we stayed served bad food, effecting in food poisoning for both of us. Next to that, we got a room next to the main restaurant, so lot of noises during the day AND night. And if that is not enough bad luck, we also got rain the entire week!

To which country (countries) are you going on holiday this year?
Within two weeks I will start my solo journey for 10 weeks to Sweden. Probably I will also visit Norway, Spain and Portugal. After this trip, I will continue my study again and hope to go abroad in our Christmas holiday again. Maybe back to Norway to see the Northern lights.

Where would you never go on holiday?
This is a tough question. I think I cannot say I would never go to a certain destination. However, there are some places where I would not go very fast, especially when travelling alone. Examples are Afghanistan or Iraq. However, I hope to visit one day all the countries in the world.

I hope you enjoyed reading this post and getting to know me a bit better! =)
