I always see different kinds of tags on blogs: questionnaires for the blogger what makes the blog a little bit more personal. In this way, the readers get to know the blogger a little bit more. I think this way of telling more about myself is a very nice idea. You can find tags about all kinds of subjects, but because this blog is a travel blog and I am a real travel lover, of course I will do the Travel Tag! I found this tag on a Dutch blog and translated it.

Which countries of the world have you already visit?
The United Kingdom, Germany, Belgium, France, Portugal, Austria, Denmark, Turkey, Cyprus, Japan and Suriname.

Which destination is the number one of your bucket list?
Can I choose more? Well, I find it very difficult, but my absolute number one is New Zealand. I would love to go there sometime and just travel around the country. Furthermore, countries which are also high on my list are Canada, Norway, Scotland, Croatia and Bosnia & Herzegovina.

New Zealand

What is your most ideal holiday?
I do not have one type of holiday which I love the most, but if I have to choose, my ideal holiday would look like renting a car at the destination and just make a roundtrip through the country. In that way, you can see so many places what the country has to offer. Furthermore, my ideal holiday has different kind of accommodation during the trip. From a tent somewhere in the middle of nowhere to staying by locals or in a hotel. Moreover, there has to be a perfect combination of an active holiday and a relaxing holiday. I love to do things, like exploring the culture and beautiful places, but I also love to have some relaxing time in the nature or at the beach.

Which place did you think was so special that you would love to go back there sometime?
I just loved my trip to Istanbul! In my opinion, it is a beautiful city with friendly people, a nice culture and many beautiful places. Since it is already four years ago that I was there, I would love to go back sometime.

Show us your nicest holiday photo!
Personally I think this is one of my most beautiful holiday photos I have ever taken. It is made at the Golden Pavilion in Kyoto, Japan. But there are so many photos to choose from.

Did you have to travel for work sometime? If yes, where?
During my study Tourism Management I did an internship at a Dutch travel trade magazine, named TravelPro. For this company I had the opportunity to go on a press trip to Japan. In a short week, I visited several places in this beautiful country.

With who are you mostly going on holiday?
It depends actually. Most of the time I am traveling with my parents, sister or boyfriend.

With who would you like to go on a vacation sometime?
With some of my friends. We have spoken a lot of times about going on holiday together and which destinations, but we never actually did it unfortunately.

Who or what would you take with you to an uninhabited island?
Looking at who, of course that would be my boyfriend, parents and sister! Looking at stuff, I would say a good book, because I love to read, and a photo camera.

Did you already went on vacation in the Netherlands? If yes, where?
When I was young, I always went on holiday with my family to a bungalow park somewhere in the Netherlands or Germany (with adjustments of Austria, Denmark and Belgium one time). So yeah, I actually went on vacation in the Netherlands for many times and in so many places. Nowadays, I am still going on vacation in the Netherlands sometimes, but mostly these ‘vacations’ are only for a weekend.

Would you rather go to an amusement park or a zoo?
This is a hard one. I really like both, but if I really had to choose, I would say amusement park.

Would you rather go on a ski- or a sun vacation?
Sun vacation for sure! I am not really into winter sports.

What is your nicest holiday memory?
I think all of the vacations from when I was a child. When I still went on holiday with the family to a bungalow park and drove by car to get there. Every year again to a new place and always excited when it was summer vacation from school!

What is your least nicest holiday memory?
I actually have no idea. I have not experienced bad trips yet, luckily :-).

To which country (countries) are you going on holiday this year?
I will be traveling to Sicily in July for a week and to Hungary (Budapest) in August for a city trip of a few days. Furthermore I am still planning a trip with my boyfriend for the end of this year.

Where would you never go on holiday?
I say never ‘never’, but at the moment I would not go to the countries where I will not be safe (think about the war areas).

I hope you liked to read a little bit more about myself. I absolutely loved writing this blogpost and thinking about the answers to give. Of course everyone is allowed to take over this travel tag!

  2. I love these kinds of tags 🙂 It’s always so much fun to read what people answer and to see if their answers match yours. I definitely have the desire to travel to the same places that you do, but I’d admittedly probably pick a ski holiday over a sun holiday. I live in a very hot place and I’d love to have a ski holiday haha

    1. Thank you for your nice comment! Yeah, I also love these kinds of tags a lot, both doing it for myself and reading it from others. Haha, in that case I can understand why you would rather chose a ski holiday over a sun holiday. May I ask where you live? 🙂

      1. Yeah, of course 🙂 Well I’m originally from England, which is otherwise known as the the land of rain and grey skies haha. But I’ve been living in Israel for the past 8 years, which is otherwise known as the land of no winter haha. I’ve not seen snow in all that time and I kind of miss it actually 😄

        1. I can understand that! You’re already living in a ‘sun holiday’, haha. I think I would miss the snow as well when I would move to a warmer country!

        2. Haha, exactly!! If we could switch for a bit, that would be awesome. You’ll get to enjoy the sun and I’ll get to enjoy the snow haha.

        3. Yeah! That would be nice, haha. However, then you have to come in the winter, because now we do not have a lot of snow. The Netherlands is also more a country of rain and in summer is mostly kind of nice :-).

        4. Haha true. It’s probably getting warmer now. But that’s awesome that you get nice summers 🙂 I really would love to visit the Netherlands properly. I spent a day in Amsterdam a year and a half ago because I had a long layover, but it really wasn’t enough haha. And I’m sure there’s plenty to see and do around the country as well 🙂

        5. Haha, I can understand that! You should do that! Besides Amsterdam, the Netherlands has so many other beautiful places 🙂 Let me know when you will sometime, maybe then I can give you some tips!

        6. I bet! And thanks so much! I appreciate that a lot and same goes for you of course 🙂
