Zerosix Villa Senggigi, an amazing and unique Airbnb villa to stay in Lombok
When travelling in Indonesia, I decided to overnight in some Airbnb rentals. They are often unique, low-budget, and one-of-a-kind accommodations. In Lombok, I had the chance to overnight at the Zerosix Villa in Senggigi. This Airbnb is an amazing place to stay in Lombok and in this post, I will explain you why.
Zerosix Villa Senggigi
Zerosix Villa Senggigi is a beautiful 4-bedroom villa managed by a couple from Australia and Indonesia, Paul and Mumi. Together they decided to live on Lombok and started to build a house. Paul and Mumi are interesting persons who love to meet people, share their knowledge, and learn about new and exciting things. Together with their passion for hospitality, meeting new people, and developing their own ideas, they also started to construct some rooms on the compound. Now, almost one year later, the first rooms are a fact, and ready for rental.
From Bangsal harbor to Zerosix Villa Senggigi
After travelling from Bangsal harbor to Senggigi, I did rent a scooter, entered the villa’s address in my navigation, and drove my way up the hill from Senggigi. Even though the road was steep and a bit hard to drive, I got increasingly excited by seeing the amazing views along the way. After hearing my navigation saying, ‘You have reached your destination’, I was desperately looking for a sign saying the villa’s name. After a few minutes walking around, I gave up, and decided to enter one of the houses, to see if I could find out where the Villa was located. I was lucky… The first house I entered, was Zerosix Villa! Paul, Mumi, and their lovely dog Winnie, welcomed me with some fresh juice and delicious cookies. Together we talked for a while, enjoyed the sunset, and watched the monkeys in the garden.
Rooms
Paul and Mumi built several rooms on their compound. I stayed in the ‘Cottage C’ with a queen size bed. This room has a comfortable size, queen size bed, air-conditioning, WiFi, and a private bathroom with hot shower. The bathroom was equipped with several free toiletries, like shampoo, soap, toothpaste, and a toothbrush. Very good service!
Location
The villa itself is located up the hill of Senggigi. After riding the steep road up, you will get rewarded with an amazing view. From the villa, you can see one of the best sunsets of your life! Even though the villa is located up hill, it is not far from the city center. Within 10 minutes, you can be in the tourism area of Senggigi and visit the beach or one of the many restaurants. You can do this by taxi, or ask Mumi to ride you to the center. When she is available, she loves to give you a ride as extra service!
Facilities
In front of the rooms, is a pool with over floating system. The pool is truly amazing and while enjoying a swim, you can also watch over Senggigi and the endless sea. At the pool are some sun beds available. You can also find an open area next to the pool, with a seating area and open kitchen with a barbecue grill. Here, Mumi will prepare the most delicious meals for you.
Food
Talking about food… Mumi loves to cook and prepare things for her guests. She has a breakfast menu and you can order something for lunch or dinner too. I only had breakfast once, but this was truly delicious. She prepared an English breakfast for me with toast, eggs, beans, fruits, juice, and tea.
One afternoon, I bought some fresh bananas on the local market, and asked her to fry them for me. A few minutes later, we were enjoying with the three of us the ‘pisang goreng’, and talked for many more minutes about our lives, and all kind of other nice things.
Family
As mentioned earlier, Paul and Mumi are managing the villa together with their lovely dog Winnie. Winnie is a sweet dog that continuously would like to play! As you could have read in the text above, the couple is very hospitable, kind, innovative, and just love to share all their passion for Lombok and life with you. If you have the time, you can spend hours together and talked about things like family, live in Australia or live in your home country, travelling, culture, and much more!
Price
This villa can be considered as a budget hotel. Room rates differ between 450.000 RP ( around € 28,00) and 750.000 RP (around € 48,00) per room, so when staying with two persons, it will only costs you around € 14,00 per person for the cheapest room.
